Privacy Policy

A plain account of the limited information involved when you read or contact this publication.

Effective: 18 August 2026 · Last reviewed: 18 August 2026

1. Scope and who is responsible

This Privacy Policy applies to the public website at mirelithium.com and related pages published under that domain (the “Site”). “Mire Lithium”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the independent editorial publication operating the Site.

The Site is intended for Australian adults and provides information about casino table games and gambling risk. It is not a gambling operator. We do not open player accounts, take deposits, process withdrawals or provide gambling. This policy is written with regard to the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. It does not expand or reduce rights that cannot lawfully be changed.

Questions and privacy requests may be sent to privacy@mirelithium.com.

2. Information that may be involved

2.1 Ordinary website requests

When a browser requests a page, technical information is necessarily sent to the web server or hosting provider. Standard security and access logs may include an IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, referring page, browser type, operating-system information and similar network data. We do not use these logs to create gambling profiles or target advertising. The host may process them to deliver the Site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults and maintain security.

2.2 Information you send by email

If you contact us, we receive the address you use, your message, subject line, attachments and any information you choose to include. We may also create correspondence records, internal notes and a response status. Please do not send financial-account credentials, gambling-account details, government identifiers, health records or other sensitive information.

2.3 Browser-local preferences

The Site's JavaScript may store two simple preference values in your browser's local storage: confirmation that the 18+ notice was accepted and confirmation that the storage notice was dismissed. These values are described fully in the Cookie & Local Storage Policy. They remain on the device unless cleared and are not transmitted to us by the Site's code.

2.4 External links

If you follow a link to an independent service, such as Gambling Help Online, Lifeline, BetStop or a regulator, that service receives the technical information needed to answer your request and applies its own privacy terms. We do not receive the content of your counselling, self-exclusion or support interactions.

3. Information this Site does not collect

The current Site has no registration, login, deposit, payment, newsletter, comment area, live chat, contact form, analytics platform, advertising pixel or embedded gambling game. We do not intentionally collect:

  • bank-card, bank-account, deposit or withdrawal data;
  • gambling-account usernames, credentials, balances or histories;
  • government identity documents or age-verification documents;
  • precise device geolocation;
  • contact lists, camera, microphone or biometric data;
  • advertising identifiers or cross-site browsing profiles;
  • health or counselling records;
  • information about children for marketing or profiling.

We do not sell personal information and do not exchange it for targeted advertising. If a future feature changes these practices, this policy and any required notice or consent mechanism will be updated before that feature is introduced.

4. Why information may be used

Technical and correspondence information may be used only as reasonably necessary to:

  • deliver pages and assets requested by your browser;
  • maintain performance, diagnose errors and protect the Site against malicious traffic;
  • respond to editorial corrections, privacy requests and accessibility feedback;
  • keep a record of how a complaint or correction was handled;
  • protect legal rights, comply with lawful obligations or respond to valid legal process;
  • produce genuinely aggregated operational information that does not identify an individual.

Where a legal basis is required, processing may rely on consent, performance of a requested communication, legitimate interests in operating and securing an informational website, or compliance with law. We will not use an email enquiry to send marketing unless you separately and clearly request it.

5. Cookies and local storage

As at the effective date, the Site itself sets no HTTP cookies. It uses local storage for two strictly limited interface preferences. Local storage is a browser feature similar to a small on-device key-value file; unlike a cookie, it is not automatically attached to every request.

KeyValue and purposeTypical duration
ml_age_confirmedyes — prevents the 18+ notice appearing on every pageUntil browser data is cleared
ml_storage_notedismissed — remembers dismissal of the storage noticeUntil browser data is cleared

No unique account identifier is generated. These preferences are not used to infer gambling activity, track visits across other websites or advertise. You can block or erase them through browser controls; the content remains available, though notices may reappear.

6. When information may be disclosed

We may disclose limited information to service providers that support hosting, domain operations, email, security, backups or technical maintenance, subject to their service terms and access controls. We may also disclose information:

  • when required by a valid law, court order or authorised government request;
  • to investigate or prevent fraud, security incidents, abuse or threats to safety;
  • to professional advisers under duties of confidentiality;
  • as part of a genuine reorganisation, transfer or sale of the publication, with appropriate protections and notice where required;
  • when you direct or authorise the disclosure.

We do not provide readers' details to casinos, wagering providers, data brokers or gambling marketers. External support links are ordinary links, not affiliate or tracking redirects.

7. Overseas processing

The internet and common hosting or email services may route, store or back up information in jurisdictions outside Australia. The specific locations can depend on the service infrastructure and sender's email provider. Privacy and government-access rules may differ from Australian law.

We limit the information collected by design and select service arrangements with reasonable security and privacy protections. If you require location-specific information for a privacy request, contact us before including unnecessary personal details.

8. Retention and deletion

Browser-local values remain under your control until cleared. Server security logs, where generated by the hosting environment, should be retained only for an operationally reasonable period determined by the host's configuration and legal obligations.

Ordinary editorial correspondence may be retained for up to 24 months after the matter is closed so we can document corrections, prevent duplicate work and answer follow-up questions. Privacy complaints, legal records and material correction evidence may be kept longer where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. Unsolicited sensitive information will be deleted or de-identified when practical unless retention is legally required.

Deletion from active systems may not instantly remove information from encrypted backups; backup copies are isolated and expire through normal rotation.

9. Security and data minimisation

We use a deliberately small data footprint. Reasonable measures may include HTTPS transport, least-privilege access, software updates, protected administrative credentials, backup controls and review of suspected incidents. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

You can reduce risk by not emailing sensitive information, checking the domain before following links, keeping your browser updated and avoiding reuse of passwords. Mire Lithium will never ask for a gambling deposit, card number, remote access to your device or a password.

If a data breach is suspected, we will investigate, contain it and notify affected people and regulators when required under applicable law.

10. Access, correction and complaints

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access or correction. You may also ask us to delete correspondence, object to a use or withdraw consent where applicable. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns you, and lawful exceptions may apply.

Send a clear request to privacy@mirelithium.com. We aim to acknowledge it within a reasonable period and generally within 10 business days. We will explain a refusal or limitation where the law permits.

If you have a privacy complaint, identify the event, approximate date and outcome sought. We will investigate and respond. If you remain dissatisfied and Australian privacy law applies, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Children and the 18+ audience

The editorial Site is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A young person who needs help with gambling harm should use an appropriate trusted adult or recognised support service; urgent access to support should never be delayed by this age statement. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

Do Not Track

Because the current Site does not run behavioural analytics or advertising trackers, it does not build a cross-site profile whether or not a browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

11. Policy changes and contact

We may update this policy when Site functions, providers, law or editorial practices change. A new effective date will appear above. Material changes will be signposted on the Site where practical and consent will be requested if required.
